Dialectics VS Hermeneutics: History and Literature in the Analysis of the Biographical Texts
2017) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Krivtchik, Gennadiy G.
EN: The “postmodern situation” demands to think of time and people historically in an age, when “objective history” is denied and rejected. One consequence of this paradox is predominance of hermeneutics in philosophy, literature, linguistics – science, in general. Everything is open to interpretation, varieties of interpretations of historic events and historical people are included in the hermeneutical discourse, incorporated with the problem of text in relation to genre. In biographies the real exists (and existed) but our understanding of it is always conditioned by different ways of talking and writing about it. The problem is that people still need objectivity; in reading “histories” – biographies included – we try to understand what is true, and what is opinionated, subjectivated and is simply deceit and fraud. Hence comes the importance of a dialectical method, – a method, which means weighing up contradictory facts or ideas with a view to the resolution of their real or apparent contradictions.

“Fluid” Temporality: The Conflict of Gender and Age in The Postmodern Socio-Cultural Context
(Aesthetics Media Services, India, 2022) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Skyba, Eleonora; Vlasova, Olha; Liashenko, Iryna
ENG: Temporality, being an intrinsic property of the subject/object relations in the multiplicity of the socio-cultural and gender narratives, presents one of the most complicated ideas of postmodernity. The project of temporality embraces ambivalent scripts in their “momentous transition”, revealing the attempts at generalizing ages of men and women in the certain “unified” narratives. The latter is expressed in the triad paradigm of “past-present-future” with “present” as the dominating member. While conceptualizing binary oppositions, namely, the dualism “man/woman”, it is evident that nowadays the biological “intrinsic value” of the human being’s identity has become less relevant. The man/woman’s identity is not fixed anymore by anatomy, at present it is “fluid” with the time and age “shifts” of femininity and masculinity. The decentering “situation”, having transformed the temporal aspects of man/woman’s value in the social practices and corresponding narratives, nowadays demands their valorizing by means of the conceptual impact on the transformations of the “liquid temporality”.

Interpretation in Post-Postmodern Theoretical Drift and Gender Mutations
(Critical Gender Studies Network (CGSN), West Bengal, 2024) Vlasova, Tetiana I.
ENG: Objective: To investigate the peculiarities of post-postmodern discourses of interpretation with the accent on their recent gender intersections. Theoretical basis: At the beginning of the XXI century, postmodernist theory, losing its importance and a certain `political correctness', still leaves its key principles of interpretation and relativism unshakable. The appeal of the recent publications is determined by the fact that acts of interpretation permeate all post-postmodern narratives; allegedly, gender narratives are included per se. By interpreting, we bring our own meanings into everyday life, creating our own narratives, which are essentially gender "stories" with the representation of gender discourses. Interpretation is both "fixed" and "open," but the narratives are not "open": the process of constructing narratives is enriched by "natural interpretation," usually with a focus on the cultural and gender constructs. Scientific novelty: With its tendency to change, interpretation is becoming a symbol of the post-postmodern "normalization of change". The subjectivity of interpretation is not a transparent boundary between human beings and the world around them: the "better" the interpretation, the more objective our stories seem, and the stronger the constructs conditioned by society, gender, and ideology become. Conclusions: In a world where everything and everyone is seen as a text, interpretation becomes a crucial issue of theoretical problems. In the absence of a "perfect language," the paradox is that the text simultaneously makes the reader believe in his or her own understanding of its meaning and, by virtue of interpretation, makes this understanding impossible. The influence of language on the being and the being on language is realized in various ways: feminist readings of texts, for example, have both had a huge impact on gender theory and are currently creating a new metamodern wave of the feminist movement. The "work" of interpretation is multivalent and often opaque, but it is the work that conditions the concepts and constructs of culture, society, and gender.

(EDITORIAL PRIMMATE S.A.S, Colombia, 2023) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Skyba, Eleonora; Bilan, Nataliia; Rusul, Oleg; Sudakin, Oleksandr

Modern Ukrainian Women in the Army: Realities And Prospects
(MAGNANIMITAS Assn., The Czech Republic, 2025) Grabovska, Iryna; Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Nastoiashcha, Kateryna; Tovmash, Dmytro
ENG: The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of servicewomen in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the realities of war in the gender dimension, the prospects of women in the army, and the issue of the leadership of servicewomen in Ukraine. The issue is extremely relevant today due to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The authors aim to find out the prospects of Ukrainian women in the Armed Forces, including leadership positions of Ukrainian women in the army following the example of NATO and a number of countries all over the world. There are already about 8,000 female officers in command positions in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that modern Western Europe demonstrates a tolerant attitude towards women who serve in the military forces or participate in armed conflicts as warriors. It is considered effective to use the synergy of women and men on the battlefield to achieve military goals. The article analyzes both the attitude of modern Ukrainian society to women warriors and the reactions and experiences of the women warriors themselves, who are well-known to the Ukrainian public. In conclusion it is stressed that a qualitatively new state of the Ukrainian army has been formed, in particular, thanks to the active participation of women.

New Religions as the Postsecular Epiphenomenon of Globalisation in the Contemporary Ukrainian Society
(Cape Town, South Africa, 2020) Grabovska, Irina; Talko, Tetiana; Vlasova, Tetiana I.
ENG: The tendencies of postsecularism in the social life of today’s Ukraine are especially significant in their influence on the quasi-religious context of religious worships practiced in the country. These factors erode the modernity basis of the society, and Ukraine appears in the contradictory situation of its intention to complete the modernisation process and oppose the antiglobalistic isolationism. The neo-Protestant teachings and practices are obviouly connected with the principles of liberalism and consumerism. Neo-Oriental and new syncretic religions show that they produce significant influence on spreading globalistic views in the Ukrainian society. The marginality characteristics of new religions prove the idea that their values are a challenge to the essentialistic dichotomies of the Ukrainian traditional churches. The sociocultural and political context of globalisation and postmodernism includes religious transformations axiomatically, and the impact of both on the late capitalism stage is evident in different contexts. The culture of postmodernism makes this process complicated in the countries which are still between modernity and postmodernity. The processes of ‘label change’ are important with the stress on the substitution of the rationalistic foundation by quasi-scientific teachings. The conclusions demonstrate that the very incompleteness of the modernity has led to the expansion of the quasi-religious techniques in the social and cultural life of Ukraine. The erosion of the modernity values results in spreading new religions, which became vivid at the end of the last century. As globalisation promotes syncretic and neo-Oriental religions, antiglobalistic movements are supported by neo-pagan techniques and practices.

The Origin of the Crimean Karaims and Transformations of Karaism in the Hermeneutic Eircle of History Interpretation
2020) Barash, Yuriy S.; Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Martseniuk, Larysa V.; Charkina, Tetiana Yu.
ENG: The aim of the article is the conceptual reconstruction of the origin of the Crimean Karaims as an ethnic group and determination of the factors which played the main role in the formation of their faith – the Karaism. The actual topicality of the theme under analysis is stipulated by the definite factors, which are of both ethnic and religious origin. At present there still happen fervent academic debates that make the borderline between two opposing scientific approaches concerning the key issues of the Karaims’ origin and their faith. The opponents – or the proponents – of both scientific trends are claiming that the problem is «absolutely and fully» solved, but this very fact speaks for the evidence of its definite ambiguity in solving the problems of theory and in approaching the issues of research. The methods. The methodology, used in the article, is stipulated by the specific features of the research object, which calls for the complex interdisciplinary analysis including both the approaches of the hermeneutic interpretation and the comparative historical methods. The interdisciplinary dialogue serves its goal in this paper, involving different academic subjects in one attempt at the «whole» analysis. This methodology is so important in this case because the objective covers the analysis of the «generalized» vision of the wide problematic field. The latter includes historical-comparative methods, hermeneutic approaches, deconstruction techniques, etc., which can help history and theology communicate in the mutually beneficial dialogue. The main results. The research of the ethnic origin of the Crimean Karaims in the context of the transformations of their faith – the Karaism reveals the ambivalent interpretations of their history and worships. The authors’ conception confirms the hypothesis of the Karaims’ origin as the Turks and substantiates the idea of the Biblicism as a source of their faith. The Concise Conclusion. The Crimean Karaims (Karai) being the Tengrianists before the Ist century A.D. then adopted the pure Biblicism through the Crimean local ethnic groups. Anan’s teaching having complemented the Biblicism did not change its main ideas. The practical meaningis connected with the accentualization of the scientific interest in the historical heritage of the nonnumerous ethnic group – the Karaims under the conditions of the «risks» and «threats» of the globalization processes. The «project» of Man has been constructing the system of values for thousands of years, and nowadays the critically minded postmodern man or woman cannot be free from the absolutes of faith, from the ultimate concepts of philosophy. And namely at this historical stage those obvious criteria can help the postmodern person to perceive that moral law that is the intrinsic value of the human being. The originality. The research problems have not been yet the subject of the special investigation in the Ukrainian science. The scientific novelty. The foundation of the Karaims’ religion is the Biblicism which had come into existence 500 years before the Judaism appeared as the worship. Thus, the Karaism cannot be considered a sect of the Judaism. The type of the article. The research is mainly an analytical one with the inclusion of the historical and theological reviews of the contemporary approaches to the theme under analysis.

(Universidad del Zulia, Venezuela, 2023) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Kaskiv, Oleg; Gogol, Vasyl; Derkach, Vitaliy; Piasta, Ruslan; Yukhymenko, Nataliia

Postmodern Conflictology: Issues of Theory and Approaches to Methodology
(Publishing House "Grani", 2021) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Pshinko, Oleksandr M.; Vlasova, Olga P.
ENG: The problematization of the classical concepts in the postmodern philosophy has created some definite challenges that stipulate the development of the “Theory” in its interdisciplinary conceptual meanings and practical applications. The latter demands a certain “list” of the new notions and implies requirements for theorists to reflect the scientific diversity without reducing it to any kind of “theoretical unity”. For these reasons the purpose of this article is the conceptual reconstruction of the notion of the conflict in the specific postmodern context of its sociocultural, political and ethical meanings and senses. The methods of the research are mainly based on the principle of the anthropocentric paradigm, which stipulates the use of the interdisciplinary comparative-critical approaches and social construction methods in the general problematic field of postmodernism. While analysing conflict theories such schools of philosophy as existententialism, phenomenology and pragmatism are considered to be valid in the descriptions of both the actual conditions of the individual human existence and abstract human qualities. The practical aspects of this paper involve the empirical representation of the principles of the value and the sense in the problematic aspects of conflict resolution with the stress on the concepts of the discoursive communication. The obtained results allow to come to the conclusion that the most influential transformations are connected with such postmodern conflict problems as asymmetrical threats and unstable security architecture. The latter proves that the methodological approaches to conflictology should be evaluated from the point of presumably successful resolutions against the background of different spatial and temporal factors, which, in its turn, means creating new administrative modalities of conflict management. It should be stressed that in the context of the conflictological tendencies of the globalizing societies the special place should be occupied by the principles of K.- O. Apel’s discoursive ethics and M. M. Bakhtin’s doctrine of the “responsible dialogism”. Nowadays political approaches cannot be effective in the conflict resolutions without the classical ideals and the absolutes, without the impact of the Pathos, which means implied significance of the “relatively Utopian” ideas and their application in the conflict resolution, the potential possibilities of their realization in the conflict situations.

Postmodernity, Sexualities and Culture: Feminist Scripts and Gender Pop-Icons (Review of the book: Gaga Feminism. Sex, Gender, and The End of Normal.J. Jack Halberstam. Boston : Beacon Press, 2013. 157 p.)
2020) Vlasova, Tetiana I.
EN: Lady Gaga as a postmodern cultural icon manipulating with images and symbols has created in her “performances” a kind of new “post”-postmodern feminism, in which she followed the line of feminine anarchists – in politics, arts and culture. “Gaga ideology”, which in fact “embraces a void”, nowadays is vividly presented across alternative forms of popular culture with the subsequent great impact on the generation of millennials.

Project of Libertarianism in the Conceptual Interpretation of Postmodernity: Microcosm VS Macrocosm and the “Inbetween Man”
(Khachatur Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University, Yerevan, RA, 2021) Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Pshinko, Oleksandr M.; Bondarchuk, Serhiі; Veprytskyi, Roman
EN: The ambivalence of meanings in the postmodern theories accentuates the hermeneutic interpretation of concepts: the new “cosmic meanings” have changed the world picture i n q uite a r evolutionary way. Though the views on postmodernism are contradictory, of principle importance is the idea that there are some valid “inventions”, which have given meaning to this term; in politics, it is the rise of neoliberalism and libertarianism. Thus, the paper aims to research the interrelation of the “inner” logic of the “free individual”, his/her micro-and macrocosm in libertarianism with the external political transformations and ideological discourses of postmodernity. The research results show that science and arts allow focusing on the interpretation of the consequences of those phenomena, which are going on at the level of the “political unconscious”. The theorists insist on rethinking the categories of libertarianism: the included concepts are challenging to combine in the principle of the domination of liberty. The focus on libertarianism stipulates the novelty of the research as the postmodern feature, which provides validity to the term “late postmodernism”. The new cosmology of the third millennium gives the possibility to use the term “cosmological postmodernism”.

Specific Character of the Crimean Karaims’ Origin and their Faith Transformation in the Hermeneutic Circle of History Interpretations (preprint)
О. 2019) Barash, Yuriy S.; Vlasova, Tetiana I.; Martseniuk, Larysa V.; Charkina, Tetiana Yu.
ENG: Annotation. The study of the origins of the ethnos of the Crimean Karaites in the course of the formation of their faith - Karaism requires its accentuation due to the unconscious interpretation of the history of this small ethnic group, ambivalently represented in the works of scientists representing different spheres of humanities. Objective. Conceptual reconstruction of the emergence of the ethnos of the Crimean Karaites and the determination of the factors that play a major role in the formation of their faith - Karaism. The research methodology is based on the specifics of the object, which requires an integrated interdisciplinary approach involving both hermeneutic interpretation methods and a comparative historical approach. The main results of the work as an analytical study are connected with the confirmation of the hypothesis of the ethnos of the Crimean Karaites as Turks and the substantiation of the author's hypothesis about the origins of their faith - Biblism. Findings. Crimean Karaites (Karai), being up to 1 in AD Tengrians, later through local Crimean ethnic groups, adopt pure bibliism. The teaching of Anan only supplemented biblism without changing its main idea. Scientific novelty. The basis of the Karaite religion is Biblism, which arose 500 years before the appearance of Judaism, therefore Karaism cannot be considered a sect of Judaism. The practical significance is connected with the accentualization of scientific interest in the historical heritage of a small ethnic group - the Karaites under the conditions of “risks” and “threats” of globalization processes.

Text as Culture in Postmodernism: Interrelation of Narratives and Discourses
2013) Vlasova, Tetiana I.
EN: In postmodernism the tradition of logocentrism aimed at obtaining some telos, the «universal truth», is opposed with deconstruction, the model of interpretation, assuming that culture is a text. In this, the boundaries of the «text» are beyond the literary text and include different cultural phenomena and artefacts. According to Derrida, all the human is textual, texts are never simply unitary but include recourses that run counter to their assertions and of their authors` intentions. Unstable interpretations are inevitable, because meaning is not inherent in signs, nor in what they refer to, but results purely from the relationships between them. Hence the postmodern scepticism towards the discourses of philosophy and narratives of culture. It is stated that the postmodern society greatly depends on the simulated reality, on the reality oriented towards mass-media. The significant place in this new cultural landscape is occupied by the visual means of embodiment; first of all, it concerns cinema. The icons of postmodern cinema and the «cult» films of the last decades («The Fight Club» by D.Fincher, «The Revolver» by G.Ritchie, «To Kill Bill» by K.Tarantino and others) are penetrated with the messages of postmodern sophistication: psychoanalysis, mythology, virtual reality and such like. The most vivid example is (and has been since 1990) «The Matrix» – a combination of the philosophic parable, thriller and fantastic utopia. The film represents a lot of intertextual links with the «elite» cultural – texts – playful mixing of images and reality, disappearance of the frontiers between hallucination and reality in a world shaped by dreams, and so on. Of great significance is the fact that nowadays, mass culture is moving towards the fundamental culture, as a result – mass culture and fundamental culture share the common intertext. These transformations (re)present the «postmodern condition» and, simultaneously, legitimize postmodernism.

Transformations of Culture in Multicultural Discourses of Postmodernity
2016) Vlasova, Tetiana I.
EN: The scientific debates focused on culture are connected with the current crisis of identity and nation. The decentering of culture, which is going on now, is a political act that contributes significantly to the decentering of power and wealth. In the mid – 1860s M. Arnold and J.S. Mill responded to the political crisis in Britain turning the discussion into the sphere of cultural representation. For Arnold, the «men of culture» were true «apostles of equality». In the XXth century J. Ortega y Gasset claimed that the mission of the university was of paramount significance mainly due to culture and education: the purpose of the university is to educate ordinary students to be cultured citizens. Concerning multiculturalism which emerged as a discourse during the 1970s, it was often opposed on the grounds of its «culturalism». At present liberal multiculturalism is a label given to the diversity model of cultural differences known in the EU as «harmonization». Nowadays ideas, symbols and images as well as their meanings, are, as a rule, personalised and can be accessible for the scientific analysis only in the process of the dialogue of cultures.
