Item Conceptualization of the Tabular Representation of Knowledge(IEEE, 2021) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.; Ivanov, Oleksandr P.ENG: Tabular representation is used as a basis for knowledge extraction. The structure of knowledge is built from a generalized concept to data structures that are used in applied software. The resulting formalizations allow for control of information in the form of natural language texts (regulatory documents), databases and spreadsheets of automated transport systems. The knowledge extracted from the tabular representation serves as the basis for decision-making and data mining.Item Constructive-Synthesizing Modelling of Ontological Document Management Support for the Railway Train Speed Restrictions(Український державний університет науки і технологій, Дніпро, 2022) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.ENG: Purpose. During the development of railway ontologies, it is necessary to take into account both the data of information systems and regulatory support to check their consistency. To do this, data integration is performed. The purpose of the work is to formalize the methods for integrating heterogeneous sources of information and ontology formation. Methodology. Constructive-synthesizing modelling of ontology formation and its resources was developed. Findings. Ontology formation formalization has been performed, which allows expanding the possibilities of automating the integration and coordination of data using ontologies. In the future, it is planned to expand the structural system for the formation of ontologies based on textual sources of railway regulatory documentation and information systems. Originality. The authors laid the foundations of using constructive-synthesizing modelling in the railway transport ontological domain to form the structure and data of the railway train speed restriction warning tables (database and csv format), their transformation into a common tabular format, vocabulary, rules and ontology individuals, as well as ontology population. Ontology learning methods have been developed to integrate data from heterogeneous sources. Practical value. The developed methods make it possible to integrate heterogeneous data sources (the structure of the table of the railway train management rules, the form and application for issuing a warning), which are railway domain-specific. It allows forming an ontology from its data sources (database and csv formats) to schema and individuals. Integration and consistency of information system data and regulatory documentation is one of the aspects of increasing the level of train traffic safety.Item Geometric Fractals' Constructive-Synthesizing Models using Ontological Means(CEUR-WS Team, Aachen, Germany, 2024) Kuropiatnyk, Olena S.; Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.; Lyakhova, MariaENG: The paradigm of constructive-synthesizing modelling is based on the idea of the world as a collection of different structures. The development of constructive-synthesizing modelling provides an opportunity to automate the formation of structures. Automation possibilities depend on the degree of formalization and the quality of the corresponding models. In this work, the formalization of constructive-synthesizing models is enriched by the ontological representation of knowledge. This approach is demonstrated in the formation and display of geometric fractals. The developed models are implemented by software tools using Java and Apache Jena framework. It is possible to change the basic elements of fractals based on their ontological representation.Item Ontological Harmonization of Railway Transport Information Systems(CEUR-WS Team, Aachen, Germany, 2021) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.ENG: The problem of unification and intellectualization of Ukrainian railway transport information systems is investigated employing ontological support. A base frame model of modular ontology, which includes 12 components connected by logical definitions, has been developed. It provides ontological support of technological processes taking into account the formalized normative-legal documentation. The possibilities of ontologies for the railway transport models coordination have been established. The application of the developed methods and tools makes it possible to achieve greater decentralization of information systems and unification of railway technological processes representation. Further research involves extending the formalization of instructions and increasing the expressiveness of ontologies by developing new constructs and linking them with higher level of abstraction ontologies.Item Ontological Suitability Analysis of Railway Tracks for High-Speed Traffic(Хмельницький національний університет, Україна, 2022) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.ENG: High-speed railways are developing rapidly in the world and, in particular, in Europe, and are promising in the territory of Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to check the consistency of the existing railway characteristics with the high-speed rail transport regulations by ontological means. The ontology was developed in the Protégé and MRcube software environments in the OWL DL profile using the Extreme methodology. Ontology population is automated in OpenRefine and INCEpTION based on texts and tables semantic annotation. Data extraction is done in Tabula for tabular data resources and FineReader for drawings. The ontological support was developed according to the model of multi-level concretization employing a distinction between data and rules modules. The ontology of resources is based on a tabular knowledge representation model. The usability of the proposed approach is experimentally evaluated on the example of the sections of the «Mariupol Port-Volnovakha» railway in Ukraine, «Plovdiv-Burgas» in Bulgaria and «Coswig-ESig G» in Germany and the corresponding regulations. The ontology can be used for conventional railways (e.g., 160 km/h), as well as further integration with the railway train model can be done. The ontology was evaluated by the domain expert and using the OntOlogy Pitfall Scanner. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the integration of heterogeneous resources of railway infrastructure characteristics by ontological means. The semantic annotation and formalization of railway regulations have been employed. Railway transport data extraction and validation processes were improved. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of improving the safety of train traffic by checking the suitability of railway tracks to ensure the declared speeds of high-speed and conventional railways.Item Ontological Support for Harmonization and Integration of Ukrzaliznytsia Information Systems Data(Український державний університет науки і технологій, м. Дніпро, 2022) Zhuchyi, Larysa I.ENG: Purpose. The development strategy of Ukrzaliznytsia includes the following areas: integration and standardiza-tion of information systems, increasing the truthfulness of data and automating business processes. The integration of railway information systems is possible by ontological means without changing their structure. In this work, the main aim is the analysis of existing transportation ontological developments and determination of approaches to the application of related domains developments to the objectives of Ukrzaliznytsia’s development. Methodology. On-tological developments are systematized according to the type and format of their resources, the level of data inte-gration, and the goals of ontology-based software. Methods of system analysis are used. Findings. The analysis showed that European Union railway transport ontologies are used to integrate infrastructure description data, train timetables, and others. At the same time, insufficient attention is paid to the regulatory support of the transportation process. There are software tools for annotating texts, extracting knowledge from tables and developing ontologies, but they are not used to support the Ukrainian railway transportation process. It has been determined that the actual problem is normative documentation annotation to establish a link between the ontology and the regulation texts. Originality. The basis for achieving the development goals of Ukrzaliznytsia by ontological means was laid, using the analysis and systematization of existing ontological developments of transport and related domains. The possi-bilities of using ontological means in railway transport are scientifically substantiated for: formalization of regulato-ry support; data transformations; data integration; checking the consistency of information systems data and regula-tions. Practical value. The work made it possible to identify the most significant ontological projects in transport. The foundations for the implementation of the conceptualization of the tabular representation of knowledge and the development of an ontology for the integration of models of railway subsystems have been laid.Item Ontology-Based Semantic Checking of Data in Railway Infrastructure Information Systems(Sciendo, Warsaw, Poland, 2022) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.; Ivanov, Oleksandr P.ENG: Semantic checking of railway infrastructure information support data is one of the ways to improve the consistency of information system data and, as a result, increase the safety of train traffic. Existing ontological developments have demonstrated the applicability of description logic for modelling railway transport, but have not paid enough attention to the data resources structure and the railway regulatory support. In this work, the formalization of the tabular presentation of data and the rules of railway transport regulations is carried out using the example of a connection track passport and temporary speed restrictions using ontological means, data wrangling and extraction tools. Ontologies of the various formats data resources and railway station infrastructure, tools for converting and extracting data have been developed. The semantic checking of the compliance of railway information system data with regulatory documents in terms of the connection track passport is carried out on the basis of a multi-level concretization model and integration of ontologies. The mechanisms for implementing the constituent ontologies and their integration are demonstrated by an example. Further research includes ontological checking of natural language normative documents of railway transport.Item Semantic Checking of Different Type Information Sources About Permitted Speeds in Railway Transport(CEUR Workshop Proceedings, 2022) Shynkarenko, Viktor I.; Zhuchyi, Larysa I.ENG: The infrastructure of railway stations must ensure a high level of safety when trains move at the declared speeds. The operation of various infrastructure elements is carried out in accordance with the normative and technical regulations of the railways, based on their current state. Information about this is stored in electronic documents and databases of various types. Means are proposed to improve the safety of train traffic based on the semantic checking of data from various sources about the permitted speeds on the elements of railway tracks. To formalize the restrictions of the technical operation rules of Ukrainian railways, it is proposed to use the method of semantic annotation. The ontology is formed based on the composition of relations. The methods of conceptualization of the tabular representation of knowledge and multi-level concretization proposed earlier are applied. A modular ontology has been developed for integrating the data of the railway switch and track lists, orders that set the permitted speeds on the elements of the railway infrastructure, technical operation rules and building norms. This approach provides a connection between natural language regulations, information systems and ontologies on the issues of a train speed restriction. Heterogeneous and diverse data sources harmonization will increase the level of their accuracy and, as a result, the reliability of the corresponding subsystems of the railway transport operation.
