dc.description.abstractENG: Political participation and civic engagement are attributes of a democratic nation. While the youth of the 21st century share their thoughts and ideas on social media, there is a declining interest in politics or they must have created a novel way of discussing political information. The young generation’s political participation is essential for a functioning democratic nation. The youth is also expected to be politically knowledgeable with information readily available online. Access to this information will help them to make informed decisions. Sources of political information may also come from family and friends. As young people deal with an abundance of online information shared on social media, how was their experience in engaging with family and close friends? The research would like to understand how Hungarian LIS students use social media in online political participation and how social media political information affects the youth’s trust and judgment when interacting with their close family and friends online. The research is underlined by the fact that it was carried out at a particularly politically crucial time before the election.en
dc.description.abstractUKR: Участь у політичному житті та громадянська активність є атрибутами демократичної нації. У той час як молоді люди XXI століття діляться своїми думками та ідеями в соціальних мережах, їхній інтерес до політики знижується, або вони, мабуть, створили новий спосіб обговорення політичної інформації. Участь молодого покоління в політичному житті має важливе значення для функціонування демократичної нації. Очікується, що молодь буде політично обізнаною та матиме вільний доступ до інформації в Інтернеті. Доступ до цієї інформації допоможе їм робити обґрунтований вибір. Джерелами політичної інформації також можуть бути сім'я та друзі. Оскільки молоді люди мають справу з великою кількістю інформації в інтернеті, що нею вони діляться в соціальних мережах, яким був їхній досвід взаємодії з родиною та близькими друзями? Дослідження має на меті зрозуміти, як угорські студенти з біблотечно-інформаційних наук використовують соціальні медіа для участі в політичному житті онлайн і як політична інформація в соціальних медіа впливає на довіру та судження молоді під час взаємодії з близькими родичами та друзями в інтернеті. Підкреслюється, що дослідження проводилося в особливо політично важливий час — напередодні виборів.uk_UA
