| dc.description.abstract | ENG: We live in a time of social and technological change. The economic and financial crisis at the beginning of the millennium, the covid-19 epidemic and finally Russia's aggression against Ukraine have shown how vulnerable the global community really is. On the other hand, we are witnessing extraordinary technological progress. In the field of science, we are witnessing an increase in the amount of data and information. In the paper, I aim to present the importance and role of academic libraries in dealing with the challenges brought by the above-mentioned phenomena. Open science, open education, respect for mutual differences, solidarity between differently developed environments must ensure the sustainable development of the community and the development of all its potentials. Academic libraries play a central role as a bridge between individual social groups. In this paper, I will try to outline how libraries can fulfill this mission. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | UKR: Ми живемо в час соціальних і технологічних змін. Економічна та фінансова криза початку тисячоліття, епідемія COVID-19 і, нарешті, агресія Росії проти України показали, наскільки насправді вразливою є світова спільнота. З іншого боку, ми спостерігаємо надзвичайний технологічний прогрес. У сфері науки ми є свідками збільшення кількості даних та інформації. У статті я прагну представити важливість і роль академічних бібліотек у подоланні викликів, спричинених вищезазначеними явищами. Відкрита наука, відкрита освіта, повага до взаємних відмінностей, солідарність між різнорозвиненими середовищами мають забезпечити сталий розвиток спільноти та розвиток усіх її потенціалів. Академічні бібліотеки відіграють центральну роль як міст між окремими соціальними групами. У цій статті я спробую окреслити, як бібліотеки можуть виконувати цю місію. | uk_UA |
