Dialectics VS Hermeneutics: History and Literature in the Analysis of the Biographical Texts

EN: The “postmodern situation” demands to think of time and people historically in an age, when “objective history” is denied and rejected. One consequence of this paradox is predominance of hermeneutics in philosophy, literature, linguistics – science, in general. Everything is open to interpretation, varieties of interpretations of historic events and historical people are included in the hermeneutical discourse, incorporated with the problem of text in relation to genre. In biographies the real exists (and existed) but our understanding of it is always conditioned by different ways of talking and writing about it. The problem is that people still need objectivity; in reading “histories” – biographies included – we try to understand what is true, and what is opinionated, subjectivated and is simply deceit and fraud. Hence comes the importance of a dialectical method, – a method, which means weighing up contradictory facts or ideas with a view to the resolution of their real or apparent contradictions.

Methodology as a Tool of Historical Knowledge: Relevant about the Obvious

EN: The purpose of the article is to actualize and clarify the main principles and methods of scientific research in their relationship and interdependence (on example of historical sciences). Research methods: analytical, historical, comparative, system-structural. Main results: the article illustrates the relationship of principles with general scientific and specific historical methods. Clarifications are made and examples of their use are given. Coincise conclusions: Modern literature on methodology of science is presented mostly by the publications of methodical character. Such character of publications did not require consideration of problem aspects of methodology from their authors, in particular question about interdependence of principles and methods of scientific research. In most works such important concept as «research principles» is not examined practically, with what we cannot agree categorically. On our opinion, between subject and object of research exist, firstly, methods as research instruments and, secondary, principles as rules of using these instruments. If methods are the researcher’s tools, then the principles of the research are a kind of the ethical and professional code of a scientist. It consists of a number of professional principles which are based on: a) fundamental human ethical norms; b) scientific ethics; c) the special features of a particular science. In its turn, the general scientific principles are applied in various scientific fields, especially in the historical sciences. Among them are the principles of the supremacy of truth, deideologization, independence, dialectics, specificity, consistency, objectivity, immersion in the historical era (historicism), etс. It is also necessary to note a special role of dialectics in the scientific study, which serves as main principle and at the same time as the general scientific method. As a principle, dialectics is the essence of the worldview of a scientist. As a method, dialectics helps the researcher to reveal the essence of phenomena and processes in all contradictions and interrelations of their components. Modern science possesses the wide arsenal of general and special methods. Their choice depends on scientific industry, object, aim and research tasks. A scientist must choose in this arsenal of facilities most effective and rational. If present methods are not enough, he must create the methods and use accordance with all known methodological principles. The comparative method plays an important role in historical cognition. Firstly, comparison gives the opportunity to realize better the essence of phenomena. Secondly, when comparing a researcher goes beyond a narrow topic, uses additional empirical material and eventually expands his scientific outlook and creative range. The latter is one of the main indicators of the scholar’s scientific qualification. Practical significance: Recommended for use by scholars (especially young people) for historical research. Originality: the need to adhere to the main methodological principles in historical studies is substantiated. Scientific novelty: An attempt has been made to "rehabilitate" and actualize the concept of "methodological principle", which includes the ethical standards of a scientist based on universal values formulated in the Bible. Political Transformations in the Post-Soviet Ukraine

EN: The article represents an analysis of the political system of the modern Ukrainian state in comparison with the political system of the former USSR. Following the the route of state independence, Ukraine has defi ned main vectors and priorities of the country’s policy, has drafted and adopted thousands of laws and other acts, which provide the formation of the new state. Ukraine has created the legal foundations of the civil society, adopted the principles for the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, the existence of democratic institutions, independent media. The signs of the old political system remain in all the aspects of state. First of all it is the gap between political declarations and the realities of the state forms in Ukraine.
Quantitative and Qualitative Aspects of Solar Energy Input to the Working Surface of a Solar Photovoltaic Installation During Ground Testing

EN: The monograph deals comprehensively with the use of renewable energy sources in terms of the introduction of energy-saving technologies, the solution of problems of increasing the reliability of their use, the formation of a system for assessing the development of renewable energy sources in the face of global challenges, etc. These issues are considered in detail in the analysis of the prospects for the use of elements of protection against electrical overload in solar cells, the results of experimental studies of the implementation of such components. The application of heat pump technologies and energy-active converters of solar radiation energy in the field of resource saving is considered. Materials for solving the problems of acoustic impact on the environment in the implementation of energy-saving technologies, etc. are presented in various ways. This monograph is of scientific and practical importance and is intended for masters, postgraduate students of technical and economic specialties, teachers, researchers and managers engaged in energy saving technologies at industrial enterprises and in the housing and communal sector of Ukraine. .
Substantiating the Criteria of Choosing Project Solutions for Climate Control Systems Based on Renewable Energy Sources

ENG: The choice of project solutions for systems of providing climatic conditions in premises, based on different types of renewable energy sources, was substantiated. The means proposed to solve project tasks, imply the use of the interaction between different stakeholders, the number of subsystems necessary for effective functioning in the open system, that is taking into account the synergetic effect. It was proved that the introduction of complex climate control and energy supply system will allow uniting the functions inherent to disparate engineering systems, and ensure the transformation and redistribution of various types of energy flows, which will minimize operating costs. The hierarchical structure of the problem of approval of alternative project solutions of the climatic systems based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process method was constructed, which allows obtaining a set of optimal variants. The application of the corresponding tool apparatus of Data Envelopment Analysis enables constructing a system of evaluation of the energy efficiency of projects of complex climatic control and power supply systems using different types of renewable energy sources. The functional intended to select the optimum variant of a project solution of the climate control and energy supply system was constructed. The proposed project solutions were examined from the position of determining the minimization of the total consumption of energy resources and operating costs of three alpha-stakeholders. The proposed indicator of relative integrated energy efficiency allows making an optimum choice of complex systems with disparate input and output characteristics
Women of Ukrainian Anti-Nazi Underground Reflected in Historical Antropology

ENG: Purpose. The purpose of this paper is to study the behaviour of women in extreme conditions, to establish various social roles of women, ways of their adaptation to extreme conditions on the example of Ukrainian anti-Nazi underground during Second World War. Theoretical basis. The authors derive from the fact that historical anhropology is a leading and promising area of historical research. Originality. For the first time, the authors have shown that in conditions of constant stress state and direct threat to life and health, the behaviour of underground women was determined by adequate survival strategies, i.e. by the life circumstances and personal qualities of the underground members. Conclusions. Permanent existence on the verge of life and death often led women to emotional actions, deviant forms of behaviour. Their actions could be controversial, and the motives – confusing. At the same time, the majority of women left in the Soviet underground chose as a strategy of survival the path of confrontation with occupiers, held true to their choices, often showed courage, ingenuity and self-sacrifice.

У дисертації на основі широкого кола джерел і наукової літератури вперше здійснено комплексне дослідження процесу висвітлення та концептуалізації історії антифашистського руху Опору в Україні у вітчизняному історіописанні 1942–2015 рр., а саме: рівень історіографічного опрацювання історії руху Опору; ступінь дослідженості окремих аспектів теми; характерні особливості та напрями радянського і сучасного періодів вивчення теми; формування наукових центрів та історичних шкіл, в доробку яких значне місце належить працям з історії руху Опору. Також у праці здійснено спробу теоретично осмислити феномен руху Опору в Україні. Зокрема, запропоновано цілісне бачення історії антифашистської боротьби в Україні, визначено її періодизацію, основні форми, національно-політичні течії, регіональні та внутрішні особливості. У процесі осмислення феномену руху Опору на території України розглянуто дискусійні та досі повністю нерозв’язані аспекти теми, як то проблема приналежності до руху Опору окремих осіб та різного роду формувань, мотивація учасників, шляхи і критерії встановлення об’єктивніших кількісних показників ефективності боротьби проти окупантів. Особливу увагу приділено методології і термінології дослідження. Проаналізовані дискусійні аспекти та перспективні напрями наукових студій з історії руху Опору.

Взаимоотношение старообрядцев с государственной властью в Екатеринославской губернии в XVIII - начале ХХ веков

RU: В даной работе освещены взаимоотношений старообрядческих общин с официальной церковью через институты единоверия и миссионерства. Старообрядчество не представляло собой монолитную группу с тождественными взглядами на характер взаимоотношений с официальной церковью. Определенная его часть сознательно изолировалась от структур, подчиненных Синода, другие прилагали усилия для того, чтобы старообрядческих священников признавали иерархи господствующей церкви. Результатом таких усилий стало появление единоверия.
