(20–21 February 2024, Dnipro, Ukraine ).(Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Enginering and Architecture, 2024) Savytskyi, Mykola; Sukhyi, Kostiantyn; Danishevskyy, Vladislav; Radkevych, Anatolii; Nazarenko, Ivan; Proidak, Yurii S.ENG: Conference abstracts provide the findings of research and practical application in the field of innovations in construction and smart building technologies for comfortable, energy efficient and sustainable lifestyle by scholars, representatives of education, business, government to be used for reconstruction of Ukraine (in terms of the project ‘A novel decentralized edge-enabled prescriptive and proactive framework for increased energy efficiency and well-being in residential buildings’, sponsored by HORIZON 2020 EU programme (grant no. 958284 − PRECEPT).Item Accessibility of uin Sunan Kalijaga Library for Students with Disabilities: an Evaluation(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2024) Marwiyah, Marwiyah; Zain, Labibah; Yuna Chasanawati, Asri; Khotimah, KhusnulENG: This research aims to identify the accessibility of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library for users with disabilities to uncover the gap between the standard of library services for people with disabilities and the condition of the library to support an accessible environment. This research applies qualitative methods to explore the accessibility of library services for users with disabilities using the IFLA checklist, a standard for providing library services for people with disabilities consisting of 3 main areas; physical access, media format, and service and communication. UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library has met the most of criteria for providing services for users with disabilities. Physical access that covers outside the library, getting into the library and access to library collections and services mostly has met the standard. However, the absence of an elevator prevents users with wheelchairs from accessing the upper floor in which the library collections are stored which means that access to library collections is hindered. To address this problem, the library provides the Difable Corner, a department for users of all types of disabilities. The research also found that for library collections, the library provides more for the blind, while for the deaf it is still not maximized. Therefore, the library, in collaboration with the Center for Disabilities Service provides volunteers for students who are not yet fulfilled. Being under the parent institution that promotes inclusive value requires UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library to provide an inclusive environment that welcomes all users regardless of their abilities. The library has made some effort to fulfill the standards for providing a library for the disabled. The gap between ideal standards and real conditions in the library related to accessibility for the disabled can be considered to improve inclusive-based library services.Item Activities of the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL): the Vision of Creators (abstracts)(Дніпровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. В. While some European Higher Education libraries have taken on the OE challenge, others are yet to do so. The network is there to help all those striving to support Open Education at different levels of maturity. As a result of a Hewlett Foundation grant, the network is focusing on activities to help implement the UNESCO OER Recommendation. It is growing fast with members from more than twenty European countries. This panel will focus on how a network can stimulate more international action with its members, speaking to how they are getting engaged in activities with their peers: driving experienced members to share their OE expertise and newcomers to connect and contribute while learning more about OE. The panel will bring together network members from different countries to share their experiences in developing a set of activities within the network itself, initiated and steered by them. They will also reflect on the specific context of an international, European network in which most of the members use English as a second language and come from diverse cultural and geographical backgrounds. Members will describe the process and the results of activities that started in Spring 2021, including: ● Interviews with European Open Education Champions – librarians interview active OE advocates and practitioners: students, teachers, pedagogues, practitioners, talking about OE: why it is important, what they do to move this forward, what still needs to be done, and more ● ENOEL practitioners under the spotlight - members of the network share their experience as librarians and their specific applied OE expertise while enabling others to ask questions and consider replicating their practices ● OE drops - small chunks of knowledge on OE themes, issues, definitions, tips & tricks, etc. designed and recorded by members in a short (2-3 mins) video format ● Thematic Working Groups to ○ organize and curate OE resources for the network and the wider public in general ○ design and share advocacy tools about the Unesco OER Recommendation ● build an Open Education learning path for EU librarians. Aside from sharing interim results, the panel will also provide ENOEL members the chance to share how they felt while facing ups and downs in these activities and how they managed to face challenges together.Item Activities of the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL): the Vision of Creators (presentation)(Дніпровський національний університет залізничного транспорту ім. акад. This theses reviews research on 3D material modelling of plain, fiber‑ and aggregate‑modified concretes in the ANSYS environment, with emphasis on constitutive law selection, experimental calibration, and numerical tactics that preserve convergence once cracking and crushing initiate. Damage‑plasticity formulations such as Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) consistently outperform simpler Drucker–Prager or Willam–Warnke approaches, provided their numerous parameters are tuned to targeted laboratory data. Special issues arising in thin‑walled elements and permanent formwork stability, mesh objectivity, staged casting pressure are examined, and five recent case studies are dissected to illustrate best practice. The review concludes with recommendations for practitioners and identifies emerging trends, notably machine‑learning‑assisted calibration and phase‑field fracture, that are poised to reshape concrete simulation in commercial FEA.Item AI Technology Implementation in Company Compliance Management(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2025) Waszkielewicz, Wiesław; Kozenkov, Dmytro Ye.ENG: The article examines the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in compliance as a tool for automating audits, reducing risks, and improving monitoring efficiency. Лазаряна, 2016) Worthey, GlenEN: The thesis of this paper is simple: the digital humanities (DH) can and should make a happy home in the modern research library, and this has been true for decades. What? – Some may ask. – You mean to say that DH has been around for decades? Yes, – I say – and not only that, but DH has some very serious theoretical and practical forebears from almost a hundred years ago: the Russian Formalists, who even today have some important things to teach us not only about DH in general, but also about DH in the library.Item Analysis of the Electric Energy Consumption Components for Mine Train Traction(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Arpul, Serhii V.; Artemchuk, Viktor V.; Babyak, Mykola O.; Vasilyev, Viacheslav E.; Hetman, Hennadii K.; Marikutsa, Serhii L.EN: Abstract. The paper considers the issues of reducing the energy intensity of transportation at opencast mining enterprises, the relevance of which has now increased due to the rise in the cost of fuel and energy resources. It presents the study results concerning the cost structure of the electricity consumed by electric mine transport, which form the basis for the development of technical and operational measures to reduce the energy intensity of the transportation process. It is shown that the work to reduce the electricity consumption for mined rock transportation should be aimed at: - Reduction of losses in the power circuits of the traction rolling stock due to the use of more advanced electric rolling stock and regulation of the degree of utilization of the installed traction power; - Introduction of new contact materials for electrical circuits with the lowest possible resistivity, including for current collector plates; - Introduction of measures to reduce energy consumption for power supply of auxiliary circuits; - Development and implementation of rational train control techniques. The introduction of energy-saving measures should include the development and application of effective methods for calculating individual norms of energy consumption and incentives for energy saving of the employees involved in the organization of the transportation process.Item Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Algorithms to Assess the Reliability of a Scientific Paper in Scopus: the Experience of a Translator (presentation)(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2022) Osadchyi, Vitalii I.ENG: The corporate ethics of Ukrainian science encourages unfair practices, in particular, scientific publications. Lazaryan, 2019) Havryliuk, Volodymyr I.EN: Abstract. The problem considered in the work is concerned to the automatic detecting and identifying defects in a neutral relay. The special design of electromechanical neutral relays is responsible for the strong asymmetry of its output signal for all possible safety-critical influences, and therefore neutral relays have negligible values of dangerous failures rate. To ensure the safe operation of relay-based train control systems, electromechanical relays should be periodically subjected to routine maintenance, during which their main operating parameters are measured, and the relays are set up in accordance with technical regulations. These measurements are mainly done manually, so they take a lot of time (up to four hours per relay), are expensive, and the results are subjective. In recent years, fault diagnosis methods based on artificial neural networks (ANN) have received considerable attention. The ANN-based classification of relay defects using the time dependence of the transient current in the relay coil during its switching is very promising for practical utilization, but for efficient use of ANN a lot of data is required to train the artificial neural network. To reduce the ANN training time, a pre-processing of the time dependence of relay transient current was proposed using wavelet transform and wavelet energy entropy, which makes it possible to reveal the features of the main defects of the relay armature, contact springs, and magnetic system. The effectiveness of the proposed approach for automatic detecting and identifying of the neutral relays defects was confirmed during testing of the relays with various artificially created defects.Item Atmosphere Pollution Modeling in the Case of Accident During Rocket Propellant Transportation by Trains(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Biliaiev, Mykola M.; Biliaieva, Viktoriia V.; Kozachyna, Vitalii A.; Berlov, Oleksandr V.; Gunko, Olena Yu.; Chernyatyeva, KaterynaEN: Abstract. At present time, in Ukraine the intensive development of solid-propellant missiles takes place. These missiles are called «Grim», «Grim-2», etc. Transportation of rocket propellant very often is carried out by trains. In the case of accident during such transportation great amount of toxic chemicals may be emitted into atmosphere. It is very important to predict the atmosphere pollution level near railways transport corridors to obtain the realistic information about the size of possible zones of hitting. To forecast the atmosphere pollution in the case of rocket propellant burning in railway wagon numerical models have been developed. These models are developed to predict the atmosphere pollution in two scales. The first scale is the simulation of the atmosphere pollution near the railway tracks (so called “local scale”). The second scale is the simulation of the atmosphere pollution on the territory which is adjacent to the railway tracks («urban scale»). The forecast is based on the Lagrangian model of toxic chemical dispersion. The models allow also to predict acid rain formation in the case of solid propellant burning products dispersion into atmosphere. To solve the governing equations we used difference schemes of splitting. The results of numerical experiments are presented.Item Audio Visual Collection in Libraries as a Form of Innovation in the Digital Age(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2023) Erwina, Wina; Insi, Naafa NaafiatulENG: Libraries play an important role in facilitating knowledge sharing and promoting lifelong learning. However, the process of knowledge sharing in a library environment is not without its challenges. This theme aims to explain the various factors that influence knowledge sharing, including organisational constraints, information technology limitations, and user behaviour. Changes in user behaviour in searching for information also continue to change along with the development of the world of technology, in the library world, of course, many collections of printed information sources are interesting but are starting to be less used by users as digital collections develop. Therefore, the innovation of audio-visual collections is one of the solutions for today's users who are more interested in collections that are audio-visual. By exploring these barriers, researchers and practitioners can gain a comprehensive understanding of the obstacles librarians and library users face in their efforts to share and access knowledge. Ultimately, the paper aims to sensitise libraries to adapt to the evolving information landscape and further their mission of linking. Ultimately, this paper aims to sensitise libraries to adapt to the evolving information landscape and continue their mission of connecting individuals with the information they seek.Item Automated Testing of Web Applications: Development of a System for Improving Performance and Reliability(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2025) Shvachych, H. L.; Faizova, Svitlana O.; Motiakin, I. V.ENG: Purpose. The goal is to improve the methodology for evaluating the image of a value-oriented enterprise based on the concept of a balanced scorecard (BSC). Methodology. System-structural analysis and the method of logical generalization were used to clarify the essence and place of the image in the structure of the company's intangible assets, factor and economic-mathematical analysis - to form the BSC management panel and calculate the integral index of the corporate image; critical analysis - to compare alternative approaches to BSC formation and the role of the company's image in the implementation of its value growth strategy. Findings. The role of intangible assets, business image of the enterprise as a strategic factor of success, competitiveness of the enterprise on the domestic and international markets is determined. As a basis for assessing the image of a domestic value-oriented enterprise, we chose the normative method of integral assessment of the investment attractiveness of enterprises and organizations. It involves determining the financial and economic status of the enterprise based on financial reporting data and includes the calculation of a group of indicators, the choice of which depends on the goals set by the investor. According to this approach, image assessment should consider assessment of financial performance, financial stability, and liquidity; results of analysis of business activity and profitability; scale of business; market indicators. The considered the sequence of calculating the integral index of the image of a value-oriented enterprise using the example of MF "Favourit Plus" LLC, which is one of the leaders of Ukraine among meat processing enterprises and aims to become a European-level enterprise. The proposed methodology for evaluating the image of a value-oriented enterprise, which considers the specifics of domestic enterprises, including branch ones. As its basis, the concept of a balanced scorecard - BSC was chosen. Originality. Considering the company's image as an element of competitive advantage means changing its place and role among the company's resources. An improved method of assessing the image of a value-oriented enterprise, which, unlike the known ones, involves the calculation of an integral index of the enterprise's corporate image based on a Balanced Scorecard. A comprehensive assessment of the indicator takes into account the following positive characteristics and rationale for the choice: a significant orientation to the expectations of the investment community; the possibility of taking into account the contribution of the enterprise's intellectual capital to the creation of its future value; ease of calculation and availability of perceiving the logic of the indicator at all levels of management; the ability to navigate the key factors of value creation and the value image of the enterprise to lower levels of management. Practical value. The conclusions of the work can be used in the process of improving the corporate governance system of the enterprise.Item Capital Investments in the Context of Sustainable Development of Railways(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Kharchenko, Olesia I.; Okorokov, Andrii; Vernigora, Roman V.; Tsuprov, Pavlo; Papakhov, Oleksandr Yu.; Logvinova, Nataliia A.ENG: Abstract. Ukraine, due to its geographical position and developed transport infrastructure, has significant potential as a transit country, primarily in the supply chain of trade between Asia and Europe. According to the estimates of the British Institute for Transport Rendell Ukraine, the transit coefficient of Ukraine is 3,75 (with a maximum of 5); This is the best indicator among the countries of Europe (for comparison, in Poland, which occupies the second place, this indicator is 2,92). Nowadays, Ukraine uses its transit potential extremely insufficiently and inefficiently; over the past 10 years, the volume of transit traffic through the territory of Ukraine has declined by more than 2,5 times, primarily due to the fall in transit traffic by rail. One of the reasons for this situation is, of course, the general political and economic situation in the country. However, there are a number of other negative factors that prevent Ukraine from fully and effectively using its transit potential. These problems lie both in the purely technical plane (deterioration of transport infrastructure and rolling stock, lack of capacity of the main transport routes, underdevelopment of logistics terminals in the country and at land borders, difference in width with the European railway system) and the legislato-thick (high level of port dues, bureaucratization and regulation of customs procedures, lack of flexible tariff policy for carriers, etc.).Item Citizen Science and Libraries(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2022) Tiberius, IgnatENG: Citizen Science is the active participation of the public in research activities, with their intellectual capacity, their time or other kind of resources. There are many definitions of citizen science, but they are all referring to the collaboration between professional scientists and the rest of society. This is a two-way activity, which empowers citizens to play a role in research activity and, as a result, produce improvements and make discoveries which will be of benefit to society as a whole. Citizen science effectively relocates scientific activities into a wider community and offers grounds for more interaction between science and society. Research libraries and public libraries are already well placed to support citizen science. This presentation is tackling the practical aspects of citizen science. This presentation is a collective, international act that involves many professionals that support Citizen Science, from Europe and USA.Item «Citizen Science»: де тут університетські бібліотекарі? Lazaryan, 2019) Kapitsa, Michail І.; Laguta, Vasiliy V.; Kozik, YuriyENG: Abstract. The objective of the article is to determine the quality conditions of a locomotive traction motor frame insulation based on observations over the recovery voltage and classification of a tested insulation wear degree as well as to determine estimates of operating time until the insulation restoration or replacement with a new one. To classify the insulation quality conditions and to forecast its residual life until the restoration, a cluster analysis and discriminant analysis are used based on indicators reflecting the properties of an insulation recovery voltage curve. The study defines an information content received from frame insulation recovery voltage readings as compared with its resistance from the perspective of testing the insulation condition and predicting its residual life. Statistical characteristics of clusters corresponding to the insulation condition stages allow determining the limit values of predicting parameters and estimating the residual insulation life prior the restoration. To classify the insulation condition, an integrated evaluation of the insulation condition quality is proposed. Integrated evaluation is performed according to the recovery voltage curve and is used as an indicator during clustering. An experimental study of the proposed method practically confirmed its effectiveness.Item Collection of theses The 7th International Scientific Multidisciplinary Conference of Students and Beginner Scientists "Modern Technologies: Improving the Present and Impacting the Future"(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2023)ENG: The collection contains abstracts of the International Scientific Multidisciplinary Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Modern Technologies: Improving the Present and Impacting the Future", which took place on 23-24 November 2023 at the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technology. O.ENG: The study performed a comparative analysis of project management (PM) software and ERP. The analysis revealed: 1) the main differences: standards and types of activities that they allow to manage: operational activities - ERP and investment activities - PM software; 2) shortcomings of the functionality of the ERP PM module for managing investment activities. Within the framework of the Industry 4.0 concept, the need to integrate these two classes of software to build a PM information system as a component of a single information system for managing all types of metallurgical enterprise activities is indicated.Item Comparative Mathematical Analysis of Transmission and Axial Disc Brakes(Український державний університет науки і технологій, Дніпро, 2024) Monia, Andrii G.; Bychkova, D. M.ENG: Purpose. A comparative study of axial and transmission disc-pad brakes. The task of the work is the theoretical determination of the braking torque and the force of pressing the pads against the disk in different braking modes, as well as the determination of the area of optimal operating modes of the indicated brakes. The methods. Comparative mathematical analysis. Findings. With equal dimensions of the two types of disc brakes and an even distribution of the braking torque between the wheel pairs, the transmission creates a greater braking torque on each of the four wheels of the traction section due to the gear ratio of the axial gearbox. Installing a disc brake on the axle of a wheel pair with a central location of the drive gear wheel allows you to change the masses of the half-axles, which means to eliminate self-oscillations that destroy the drive axle under the action of resonant torsional vibrations. The heavier the rolling stock of the train being transported, or the greater the slope of the track on the descent, the smaller the braking torque can be applied to the wheel pair, to exclude its blocking and clutch failure. The obtained results show that the smaller the moments of inertia and stiffness of the wheels, half-axles and transmission elements (gear wheels, shafts, etc.), the smaller the braking torque required to stop the locomotive on the same braking path. But the higher the speed of the train before braking, the greater the braking torque should be. Originality. Practical value. Taking into account the above-mentioned features of disc brakes, multilevel backup of brake systems of heavy mining locomotives operating on track slopes of up to 50 ‰ should be considered justified and necessary. Such locomotives should have both disc transmission brakes, as more efficient, and disc axle brakes as safer.Item Comparison of Motor Coach Exhaust Emissions in Real Operating Conditions for Different Testing Procedures(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Gallas, Dawid; Merkisz, Jerzy; Andrzejewski, Maciej; Tomaszewski, Sylwin; Strzemkowski, Jan; Kinter, Stepan O.EN: Abstract. The article discusses the results of applying real driving emissions (RDE) testing methods in measuring the exhaust emissions of a passenger rail vehicle. Portable Emissions Measuring Systems (PEMS) were used to measure the exhaust emissions from a motor coach in real operation, performed on a test track for selected drive cycle parameters. The road emission values of exhaust components have been calculated and compared to road vehicles and road exhaust emission limits based on the legal norms. The assessment was concluded with a comparison of the environmental cost, in terms of exhaust emissions, of transporting passengers using the tested rail vehicle relative to alternative road transport, based on measurements in real operating conditions.Item Computer System for Mechanisms Diagnosis(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2022) Ivashchenko, Valeriy; Shvachych, Gennady; Sushko, LarysaENG: The computer system proposed in this work is aimed at solving the problem of automating a comprehensive assessment of the technical functioning of mechanisms. The growing shortage of energy resources to provide heavy traffic and high-speed traffic necessitates the development of a new power supply scheme for a traction network using sources of distributed generation of electric energy. Application of asymmetric distributed traction power system with the use of distributed generation allows to increase electric energy efficiency of the feed system of rolling stock, reduce its material capacity and increase the reliability of the functioning of the railway system as a whole. The proposed structure of the hybrid electric traction system involves the creation of a new paradigm aimed at ensuring high demands on the voltage and specific power in the traction network, which will allow to improve the quality and safety of the transportation process when increasing the energy performance indicators. This paradigm will allow to form a new philosophy of building traction power systems. The key elements of this philosophy are decentralization of generation and consumption of electric energy, the use of intelligent electric equipment, distributed power supply management in a single information space of the energy process during transportation. The peculiarity of the proposed work is the optimal combination of technological processes of transmission, consumption of electric energy and transportation, taking into account the specific conditions of functioning of the electrified section: points of connection of power sources and their type, profile of the track, schedule of trains, types of rolling stock and equipment. Conceptually, the hybrid traction power system is an electric hub, in which the inputs are generating points, and the output is the power supply system of the rolling stock. The internal structure of the electric power objects of the hub is determined by the type of transformation and accumulation of electric energy and ways of managing these objects in real time.Item The Contribution of Community Libraries to the Sustainable Development Goals: a Case Study in Bandung District, Indonesia(Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies, Dnipro, 2022) Yanto, Andri; Lusiana, Elnovani; CMS, SamsonENG: IFLA invites libraries to contribute to sustainable development goals. Traditional inspection methods for detecting structural damages—such as cracks, spalling, or corrosion—are labor-intensive, time-consuming, and prone to human error. This study addresses these challenges by leveraging deep learning techniques, particularly for flat roofs. Models including CNNs, U-Net, YOLO, and autoencoders enable efficient defect detection from both visual and thermal data, even in hazardous or hard-to-reach areas. UAVs facilitate rapid image collection, thereby reducing costs and risks associated with manual inspections. Our findings indicate that AI-driven methods can significantly improve inspection accuracy, accelerate maintenance, and ensure early detection of critical damage, crucial for infrastructure safety in conflict-affected zones. Ultimately, integrating deep learning into structural health monitoring offers a robust and automated approach to safeguarding buildings and optimizing maintenance efforts.Item Determining the Causes of Rolling Stock Derailment From the Track Using Modern Research Methods(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Kuzyshyn, Andriy; Batig, Andriy V.; Sobolevska, Julia H.; Kostritsa, Sergei A.; Ursulyak, Lyudmila V.; Dovhaniuk, Stepan S.EN: Abstract. The analysis of cases of rolling stock derailment from the track at PJSC «Ukrzaliznytsia» over the past 5 years has been carried out and their main types are given. It is noted that the rapid development and improvement of computer technology allows the use of computer and mathematical modelling in the study of cases of rolling stock derailment from the rail track, which makes it possible to take into account a combination of factors that have the main influence on the behavior of rolling stock when moving along the track. It has been established that the first step is the construction of a mathematical model of an object using a selected type of mathematical description: algebraic, differential, integral equations, discrete mathematics, set theory, and others. And the second step is the choice of a method for solving these models. The simulation methods are given, which, depending on the programming style, are divided into: procedural-oriented, object-oriented, logical-oriented, rule-oriented, and oriented to constraints. An objectoriented programming of a freight car has been developed, which will make it possible to evaluate its main dynamic indicators, in particular, indicators of stability from derailment. This in turn will facilitate the establishment of the main causes of rolling stock derailment from the rail track.Item Development of a Framework for Conceptual Design of RTS (FCD_RTS)(Український державний університет науки і технологій, ІВК «Системні технології», Дніпро, 2024) Kosolapov, Anatolii A.; Egorov, Oleh Yo.; Parpolita, Oleksandr M.; Zhuk, StepanENG: The paper proposes new results in improving the CoDeCS framework for the conceptual design of complex systems. The paper describes the information-technological structures of formalised production lines and presents the first results of subsystems development.Item Development of an Algorithm for Investigation of Technical State of Wagons’ Running Gears During Their Derailment(Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan, 2019) Batig, Andriy V.; Hrytsyshyn, Petro; Kuzyshyn, Andriy; Milyanych, Andriy R.; Voznyak, Oleh M.; Tereshchak, Yuriy V.EN: Abstract. A freight wagon is a collection of a large number of parts and assemblies that form a single structure. During wagon operation, there are gradual changes in the characteristics and parameters of its structural elements. That is, the parameters of its constituent elements change – their numerical values increase or decrease that result in a change of the unit’s technical state, and, in turn, affects the totality of its performance. Gradually accumulating, the changes in the parameters of the structural elements of a wagon reach such a level that radical, sometimes abrupt qualitative change occurs. A malfunction that has not been repaired timely may lead to a failure of a wagon structural element, which, in turn, may result in rolling stock derailment. It has been established that the loss of stability of freight wagons during their movement is most often due to their unsatisfactory dynamic properties, which can be explained by design features and technical state of running gears. In this regard, the authors of the article have developed an algorithm for investigation technical state of running gears of freight wagons and determined the effect of their parameters’ deviation on rolling stock operation with possible further derailment.
